Measurement of Dielectric-Lined Waveguides for Low-Loss mm-Wave and THz Transmission
Résumé
Dielectric-lined waveguides are an affordable alternative to corrugated waveguides at mm-wave and THz frequencies. They are easier to fabricate compared to machining mm-sized corrugations, can operate at frequencies where machining sub-wavelength corrugations is no longer practical (>300 GHz), and do not suffer from Bragg reflection. Measurements of prototype dielectric-lined waveguides verify that they support the HE11 mode and have very low attenuation.
